Call for Applications: Dean of the College of Life Sciences and Medicine, National Tsing Hua University
National Tsing Hua University,s College of Life Sciences and Medicine is a leader in academic excellence and innovation. As Taiwan,s first college dedicated to life sciences and the first College of Life Sciences and Medicine, we pioneered the interdisciplinary integration of life sciences and clinical medicine. We established Taiwan,s first Interdisciplinary Program of Life Sciences, introducing a groundbreaking model of undifferentiated freshman studies and interdisciplinary learning, laying a solid foundation for cultivating future leaders in higher education.
Located in Taiwan's high-tech hub near Hsinchu Science Park and Zhubei Biomedical Park, the College has produced nearly 5,000 alumni, many of whom are leaders in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, exemplifying the transformation of academic research into industrial applications.
The College's organizational structure includes the Department of Life Science, Department of Medical Science, Interdisciplinary Program of Life Sciences and Medicine, School of Medicine, five research institutes, and three graduate degree programs. The College has a total of 949 students, supported by 91 outstanding full-time faculty members, including 22 clinical physician-faculty members, along with alumni mentors working collaboratively to nurture exceptional talent.
- The College is now accepting applications and nominations for the position of Dean. The term will commence on August 1, 2025, with a full-time appointment for a three-year term, renewable once. We warmly invite applications and nominations from individuals in both academic and medical fields.
- Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
(1) Academic expertise in fields related to life sciences and medicine.
(2) Experience as a university professor, research fellow, or an equivalent position.
(3) Visionary educational and research philosophies, significant academic achievements, and administrative leadership experience. - Applicants or nominators should submit the following materials:
(1) The candidate's CV, list of publications, and a statement of vision for the College.
(2) For nominated candidates (internal or external), a letter of consent must be included.
(3) External candidates must provide at least three letters of recommendation. - All application materials must be submitted by March 10, 2025 (based on email timestamp or postal mark) to the Search Committee of the Dean of the College of Life Sciences and Medicine, National Tsing Hua University at the following address:
